Requirements

  • Significant experience within the travel industry and have a PR background.
  • The ideal person will have travel PR experience.
  • You must also have experience in profiling key members of brands.
  • You must be responsible for assisting, creating and delivering a strategic PR plan.
  • You must be responsible for developing relationships within the UK, regional and international media.
  • You must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • You must be organised and efficient as The Yacht Week has Country Managers in over 20 countries.

Work Environment

You will be based in The Yacht Week office in London and be required to work two days a week, 9:00am to 6:00pm.

Salary

The position is nonsalaried, but you will be reimbursed travel expenses.

Since it’s conception in 2006 our lifestyle and travel company, The Yacht Week, has grown at an extremely high pace becoming one of the biggest yachting agencies in the world. We offer a unique product aimed at a vibrant, international crowd and this summer we have over 8000 participants from 33 different countries attending our events.

The Yacht Week is a young, personal and flexible start-up founded and operated by three entrepreneurs in their early 30′s. Everything we do, we do together. This creates an unbeatable atmosphere for learning about business and entrepreneurship.

The available position is an internship focused on the development of our website and optimization of how we use different channels to communicate with our customers (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Mobile Apps). A big part of your role is creative and developmental in nature and will include the production of new tools connected to Facebook and our website. Others task includes maintaining and updating the backend of our website, Facebook and Twitter accounts during the sales cycle. You will also develop our image database, media sections and online backups. It will also be under your responsibility to learn how to work with field personnel like photographers and film producers in order to utilise their on-site work as much as possible.

So what do we expect from you?

You should have a very good knowledge of the basic web standard languages – HTML, XHTML, CSS, W3C and JavaScript. You will have a good eye and comprehension for accessible design and you will be very comfortable in creating graphics in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator. You will know basics around web design and layout. You should also have a comprehension of the function of search-engine optimisation and know how to use it with the available tools.

You should love to share your ideas and you constantly come up with new ones. The attitude to work hard for the team, your flexibility and your easy-going approach adds to the great atmosphere we have at TYW. In terms of software, you should be able to operate programs like Filezilla, Editing, Dreamweaver, Ultraedit, Espresso, Photoshop, the Bridge etc. You should also know WordPress well.

Brand Ambassador 2012

Promote the event at your university or in your region!

A Brand Ambassador (BA) will lead a joint marketing campaign in his/her area to help promote The Yacht Week. The BA’s will work along side the Country Manager who has the overall responsibility for marketing and sales.

Working with The Yacht Week is inspirational and requires good social skills as well as know how in marketing and sales. This field of work allows you to put your academic knowledge to work in day to day life.

It’s a great deal of fun for sure!!!

Film Production

Are you a rising music video producer star? Let us know… we are currently looking for a talented individual to edit and/or shoot and produce our upcoming trailer content.

We are expecting a trailer equivalent to a Hollywood-produced action blockbuster or music video. Our 2010 trailer has over 1.6 Million views on YouTube. It is critical to have a touch and feel for rhythmical visuals. We only have 90 seconds to reflect the experience and convince the viewer. We promise a great adventure, exciting scenes and a great time.
