I believe I can fly!
August 2nd, 2010

We were six crews sailing together all week last year and all of them has booked week 31 this year. No use to change a winning concept so we all left together for the blue caves this morning and anchored up together. Everyone was pretty tired after last nights afterparty where we took “vaskning” to a whole new level.

We sent off our crews to the caves and got a quick nap before they returned and all skippers headed off to what we really has been waiting for since last year. The cliff is 23 meters high and perfect for jumping! Jonas was shooting while Krille, Anders, Carl and me were enjoying ourselves. I love doing backflips and when the cliff is this high it’s really amazing. The sensations of laying with your head first looking at the cliff is hard to describe!

Jag elsker o seile
July 31st, 2010

For the first time in Yacht Week history it’s not 40 degrees hot and sunny the changing day. Actually it’s rain showers and not above 25 degrees, the perfect weather for a saturday if you ask anyone in the crew. I’m just as tired as always on changing days and not at all interested in talking to customers about damaged boats and lost deposit.

This week I will check out from the crew boat and go sailing for real on a Sun Odyssey 54 DS. The crew my favourite one, the same as last year which some of you might reckon from the youtube trailer, “jag elsker o seile”. These girls knows how to party and I’ve really been looking forward to this week. I’m sure it will be just as sick as last year!

Thank you Week 30! Welcome Week 31!
July 30th, 2010

My first week at The Yacht Week 2010 is about to end. It’s just the closing party at Hemingway in Split that remains but right now it’s actually raining in Croatia and I’ve got some work to do before tomorrow so I think I just hang out on the crew boat the last night. Next week I know I will have a pretty crazy crew so I will need all the sleep I can get. To summarize the first week everything worked out really good. Some minor incidents with skippers having too much fun in someone else’s cabin, another that needed to be replaced and a Lagoon 440 that almost sank but all in all a really good week.

Thank you everyone and see you next year!

Sponge Bob, what are you sinking about?
July 28th, 2010

The main issue right now is called Sponge Bob. It’s a Lagoon 440 with a crew running around in animal suits and partying harder than anyone else. However the problem is not The Yacht Week turning into a zoo but that their boat almost sank the last night. One of our Canadian skipper’s noticed a strange angle on their catamaran and found water pouring into starboard hull. In some way the seal to the propeller shaft had broken. They managed to keep it at a reasonable level using a towel and right now the boat is on it’s way back to Kastela to be lifted and repaired.

Scedro’s Nightlife?
July 27th, 2010

After Komiza most boats went to Bisevo to check out the blue caves. I joined the crew boat which headed straight to Scedro, our next stop on the route. We started the day jumping off our boat and had two photographer shooting everything. Got some really cool pics with the fish-eye lens which I’m sure you’ll see in the video later this week later!

Only 8 boats joined us to Scedro, most headed to Hvar instead to stay there for the next two days. Stupid decision if you ask me, Scedro is a really nice natural harbour and it’s definitely not a calm night without party which many seems to think. We were a good mixed of crews from Spain, Austria, Finland and Norway which had dinner together at the only restaurant in the bay. Afterwards our 3 DJ’s started playing and everything went pretty insane. One skipper actually wrote their boat name on everyone in the crew to make sure they got back home, and it looked as if they needed it!

Working day
July 26th, 2010

Komiza is has a pretty small harbour and we did only manage to fit 10 boats in the marina. The other 44 boats is anchored up in a long line outside. Me and Toste spent 6 hours in the dinghy helping all the skippers to anchor and putting ropes to land. Lots of work but real fun.
In 3 hours we’re off to the beachparty, it’s gonna be another great night at The Yacht Week!

Cliffjumping
July 25th, 2010

Sunday morning means cliffjumping. We left Milna early and headed to my favourite bay on the south of Solta. Three other boats joined and dropped their anchor next to us and we had a nice breakfast before we headed for the cliffs. 12 meters down to the ocean!
With gusts up to 45 knots from NE we made 10.5 knots with the sails goosewinged. It was a fast and exciting run to Vis!

The Yacht Week 2010, finally here!
July 24th, 2010

Finally back in Croatia! I has been waiting for this since I left last year 50 weeks ago. Everything’s quite the same, 500 new guests, 54 boats and extremely hot weather. After 6 hours of check-in and a skippers meeting I got my Bavaria 49 and set of for Milna with my crew of 10 girls from Norway. 2 hours of good winds later we arrived, got a spot in the marina and the party began. The Yacht Week 2010 is on!
