Booking and Payment

After Making the booking when do you need to pay for the yacht?

You need to pay 30% within 24hours of booking, 30% on the 1st of April and 40% one to two months before your departure. Read more here

What is the cancelation policy?

Once you have made your first payment if you decide to cancel we cannot guarantee you will receive a refund. But, we will put your boat back on line and make it available for other people to book. If we receive another booking we will be able to refund your money.

When does the crew list need to be filled out?

You must complete your crew list by the time that you complete your last payment.

Can we rent our own boat through someone else but still join your parties?

To participate on the yacht week you have to book your boat through The Yacht Week. The reason for this is that it is very important we regulate the size of The Yacht Week. Since we only have a limited number of boats a week and they are all available to book on our website. If we were to let people book boats outside of The Yacht Week it is hard to limit capacity and we would end up with too many people on our events.

What happens if I am on my own? Can I join someone’s else yacht?

Yes this is possible but we do not provide a match making service. Therefore the best thing to do is to leave a not on our facebook page saying what week you want to go and normally someone trying to fill up their yacht will get back to you.

What is the most popular week?

All of the weeks are equally as popular and normally all get fully booked.

What is difference between the weeks?

Obviously the weeks differ depending on location but in the same location all the weeks are the same. Just book the week that suits your availability.

Is it possible to book a boat but not have the maximum capacity of guests?

Yes, this is possible but you will still incur the full cost of the boat.

What are the extra costs per week?

Do you have to buy The Yacht Week Wristband?

If you want to come to any of our parties during the week it is essential that you buy The Yacht Week Wristband. Then on site you will be given a wristband. Admission to parties is only allowed after showing you wristband to the doormen.

How much is the yacht week Wristband?

What costs are we expected to cover for our skipper

You are expected to pay for the skippers food and non alcoholic drinks throughout the week.

Is food provided throughout the week?

No we do not provide meals. You buy the food and alcohol from supermarkets and cook yourself on the yachts. Alternatively you can eat in restaurants.

The Boat

Do you have motor yachts?

No, we only have sailing yachts in our fleet.

How much room is there for luggage on the yachts?

There is a lot of room for luggage and there is no weight allowance. It is recommended that you use a soft suitcase, as it is easier to store without taking up space.

Is the bedding and towels provided on the yachts?

Yes, bedding is provided along with the a shower towel per person but we advise you to also bring another beach towel for using during the day.

When is the check out of the boats? What do we need to do before check out?

You need to check out of your boat before 9.00 am Saturday morning.

Before the check out, you need to take out all your baggage, trash and left over food/drinks. You just have to collect all the sheets and towels that you have used and put them in a pile in on of the cabins.

Other Questions

If you are under 20 years old can you participate in The Yacht Week?

No you have to be at least 20 years old to come on one of our trips. This applies to all destinations.

What is the ratio of men and women?

We aim to have 50% girls and 50% boys at all of our events.

What is the average age of participants on The Yacht Week?

The average age is 25 year old. This is the same for all of our weeks.

When do you get assigned your skipper?

You should be assigned your skipper within a week of making your booking although sometimes it may take longer.

Where can you buy the yacht week clothing collection?

You can order it online and then collect it at the event in the summer. We do not do a delivery service. It is only possible for collection on site.

What time should we arrive on the first day?

We recommend that you arrive around lunchtime in order to get all of your paper work and food shopping done in time to sail in the evening. You will not be allowed on your boat till 4pm but it is good if you are ready to leave by this time. You will not be allowed to leave if you are not ready before sunset on your first day.

What day should we arrange to fly home?

You have to be back in the harbour on Friday evening. Every boat has to do there check out from their boat before 9 a.m. on Saturday. So you are free to leave any time on Saturday. If you have a really early flight you should do your check your on Friday evening.

Do you need to have sailing experience to participate on The Yacht Week?
No but then you will need to book a skipper when you book your boat. This will be a great chance for you to learn to sail so ask your skipper to show you how it’s done. You may be asked to help with pulling ropes or holding fenders but it is all easy work!
