Booking & Payment

Before Booking / How to book / Payment & Cancellation / Problem with Payment / Book Flight?
BEFORE BOOKING:

1. Gather Your Friends

Depending on the size of the yacht, the yachts can accommodate between 6 and 12 people. You and your friends will have your own yacht and, if required, we can supply a skipper. It’s not possible to go on this trip as an individual as we only accept yacht bookings. The minimum age for the event is 20 years old.
Can’t find a crew? Post a note on our Facebook Forum and look for other people wanting to make up a crew!

2. Choose A Destination And Week

During the winter and spring The Yacht Week sails around the the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. Then we cross the globe to Italy, Greece and Croatia to enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean summer. Each event starts and ends on a Saturday lasting a total duration of one week. We do not organise travel or flights.

3. Choose A Yacht

Yachts vary in size and price, so choose whatever suits you! Prices range from €350-2000 per person – the average is around €450. Make sure you pack swimming clothes, snorkeling gear and sunscreen! Once you have chosen and booked a yacht you need to pay by credit card over two or three payments (depending on the destination you choose). More information on booking and payments can be found below.

HOW TO BOOK:
The yachts are booked by one person. This person will be responsible for:

1. Organising The Three Payments

One person will need to pay for the whole yacht and collect money from his/her friends.

2. Filling Out The Crew List Details Online

We require the following data from all crew members: name, date of birth, passport number and contact details. You can add your crew members via the booking system.

3. Acting As The Main Contact Upon Arrival And Departure

On arrival at the marina please look out for The Yacht Week arrivals desk for check-in. On departure please go to your yachting agency’s office for check-out.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION:
When you have filled in all details and booked your yacht you have 24 hours to decide if you want to keep the booking by paying the 1st down payment (see below for details of this amount).

  • Once you have paid your booking will be confirmed and fixed. You will not be refunded if you decide to cancel the booking.
  • If you don’t pay within 24 hours the booking will be cancelled.
  • Please check your spam filter if you do not receive your confirmation email as it may have ended up there.

CROATIA / ITALY / GREECE

All bookings for weeks 27 to 31 in 2013 must pay the full amount within 24 hours of booking.

All bookings for weeks 32 to 35 in 2013 must pay as follows:

  1. 60% of the total cost, paid within 24 hours after booking
  2. 40% of the total cost, paid by 1st June, 2013

If preferred, you may settle the total in one payment.

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

  2. For Spring sailing 30% of the total cost must be paid within 24 hours of booking and the remaining 70% by 1st January, 2014

If preferred, you may settle the total in one payment.

The Yacht Week is unable to provide any refund if your charter is canceled. Your travel insurance policy may allow you to reclaim your expenses. The Yacht Week will work with you and our yacht charter providers to recover as much of your expense as possible, but we cannot guarantee any refund after you book your yacht. Previously we have been over-booked at all our events, which has made it possible for people with cancellations to find someone else that wants to take over their booking. We can assist you with that service but cannot guarantee anything. Our Forum on Facebook is also useful for these kind of issues.
PROBLEMS WITH PAYMENTS?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Since the size of the payment is above average for most online payments, some people have problems making payments with their credit cards. Some credit cards and banks flag the purchase due to limits set by the banks.

If your payment is declined, please contact your bank to check with them first for possible reasons:

  1. Not enough funds in the account
  2. Maximum daily limit set by the bank for a transaction
  3. Default block on international transfers – check your your bank to ensure they allow international transfers with your card
  4. Your bank requires you to activate 3-D secure, a feature that we support. 3-D secure is an extra layer of security where you are redirected to your bank to submit a personal pin code in order to identify the buyer before the purchase goes through. If the bank that issues your card does not support Verified by VISA / Secure Code by MasterCard and 3D secure, then the transaction will be declined and another card needs to be used.

If you still can’t make the payment please use another card or contact payments@theyachtweek.com.

What is the Deposit?
The deposit is a kind of in insurance that you pay to the yachting company during check-in. It is used as a security against any damages caused to the yacht during the week. If you don’t have any damages when you do the check-out of the yacht by the end of the week you will get the whole amount refunded. You can choose to pay the deposit either by card or in cash.
CAN WE BOOK FLIGHTS THROUGH THE YACHT WEEK?
The Yacht Week does not arrange flights. To get your flight at a reasonable price we recommend booking your flight as early as possible. We recommend you book a flight that lands before 3pm local time in order to get to the marina in time and leave on the same day.
