Tips on Packing

Yacht Week

The key to not sinking the boat is, of course, packing light. As a girl, it's tricky to admit this, but in the end everyone will benefit from less clothes and smaller suitcases - duffel bags that is! As I begin to pack for The Skipper Academy, I cannot help but recall my experience of over packing last summer for Croatia. On a boat with 7 of my friends, all of which were girls, we all had huge suitcases loaded with clothes. We must have missed the guidelines of packing our things into a duffel bag, just a minor detail that could have spared us a bit more moving room within the boat. Ultimately, we did manage to live comfortably throughout the week, but our poor skipper did not. He had to live amidst a department store of girls clothes and suitcases surrounding him every second of the day.  His bed could have well turned into a most comfortable mattress compiled of suitcases. The Essentials for The Yacht Week... [fancy_list style="check_list"]
  • Bathing suits
  • Sunglasses
  • Sandals
  • Havaianas or any type of flip flops - help to avoid splinters
  • Light clothes - sun dresses, shorts, tank tops, jacket
  • Loads of sunscreen
  • Camera - GoPRO optional!
  • Music
  • Towels - one for the water, one for the shower!
  • and of course... toiletries
