To check in you need to fill out the following information:

  • Passport Information
  • DOB
  • Nationality
  • Gender
  • Email

Once all is complete, the last thing to do is press that ‘Check in’ button!

*Don't forget you will need to have at least 6 months validity on your passport to travel so don’t forget to check its expiry!

Check In Day. 🫵

The day has finally arrived! You can smell the exclusive parties and a week of sun!

Your skipper will be in touch with you and the crew regarding when your yacht will be ready. Check in will be onboard your yacht with The Yacht Week Event Staff.

Please be in contact with your skipper on Saturday to learn when your yacht is ready. You should have access to your yacht between 4-6pm, your skipper will let you know what marina your yacht will be docked at (Alimos or Agios Kosmas marina).

Please be advised delays can occur as the yacht is being cleaned and prepared after the previous week’s charter. The Yacht Week is not responsible for any delays to your yacht but we will do our best to work with the charter companies to get you your yacht as early as possible.

We recommend hanging out at local restaurants/ bars, getting some “heliotherapy” (sun therapy, a term coined by the Greeks), taking a dip in the sea, and sipping on drinks until your yacht is ready. If you need to find us for any assistance, our event team will be at Alimos Marina in the Charter Village at  The Yacht Week Information Point at Isobox A36. Here are some of our recommending top places to hang out before your yacht is ready:

Cafes inside Alimos Marina

Dia Noche (closest option to The Yacht Week Information Point in Alimos Marina

Skipper's

Beach Side Near the Marina.

Bolivar Beach Club (between Alimos and Agios Kosmas Marina)

Nalu Beach Club (between Alimos and Agios Kosmas Marina)

VOE Beach Club (closest option to Agios Kosmas Marina)

Edem Beach Side Restaurant and Edem Beach Club  (closest option to Alimos Marina - walking distance to most piers)

**Agios Kosmas Marina has no facilities or cafes. Only public restrooms.

Traveling Between the Marinas and Beach Venues.

There is an easy to use tram that runs along the Riviera connecting both marina and all the venues above.. You can also hire taxis using Uber or the Taxi FreeNow app. Note that Uber in Greece works exclusively with registered taxis. We recommend using these apps before grabbing a taxi on the street, as you are more likely to have a professional driver who will not overcharge you etc.

Security Deposit. 💳

There are two options with the Security Deposit on all cabin bookings. To pre-pay the yacht security deposit online, simply go to the ‘Extras’ section of your booking and select the non refundable €100 per cabin security deposit option. Payment can be made by credit card, which is the most convenient and secure way to complete the transaction.

If you prefer to pre-pay a refundable amount, you have the option to pay a €1000 refundable security deposit online also under the ‘Extras’ section which will be refunded to you within 14 working days from the last day of the charter. If damages are made, these will be deducted accordingly from an equal split of the number of guests on board.

*Please note that the only thing not covered by the yacht security deposit is any blocked toilets. However, don’t worry - your skipper will make sure you know how to use the toilets properly to avoid any issues.

Luggage Storage.

You can leave your luggage at storage in Alimos Marina for the day. The storage is close to The Yacht Week information point in the Charter Village, located at Isobox A54 and A56. With operating hours Friday-Sunday 10:00-18:00. 5 Euros per luggage for the day. You can make arrangements to have your larger luggage cases stored in the facility for the week if you don’t want to carry it on the yacht. Please note the closing time at 18:00 sharp. So make sure to get your luggage before it closes. The yachts leave early morning on Sunday before the luggage storage opens again.

Provisioning for the Week.

Please make sure to have already ordered your provisions for the week.

Yachts with a Host:

Your host will reach out 2 weeks before you travel to go through any dietary requirements and meal plans you may have. Your host will do most of the shopping on the day of, and will require at least one of your crew members to meet them at the shop to pay and help carry things back. We have arranged some transport for the hosts to shop but this is not available for guests. You will have to take a taxi to/from the shops/marinas. Your host wil help guide you through this process. You can also ask your host to do the shopping online prior to arrival to avoid the hassle.  You will also want drinks and snacks that will not be on your host's shopping list. We strongly recommend pre-ordering this extra shopping online. We recommend these two providers that will deliver your groceries directly to your yacht: Balaskas or Yachtness. It is possible to do your shopping on the day of, but the shops require a taxi to/from the marinas, and the taxis are not permitted to drive down the piers. It will cause a lot of stress and hassle to your day if you plan on shopping on the day, so best to order big and heavy things prior to arrival.

Check out. 👎

You will get back to the marina on Friday between the hours 1-3pm, the charter company will come onto the yacht to do a check before you leave. You will receive your deposit back provided that no damages have occurred (if you chose the €500 refundable deposit options). You will need to depart the yacht at 5pm on Friday.

Please note that this could vary depending on weather conditions or if you would like to head back early to catch a flight.

*We recommend booking your flight home for Saturday to save any stress and delays. There are plenty of hotels/hostels in the town.

Getting There. 🗺

The location of your exact marina can be found on your booking profile page - if you can’t see this yet, don't worry! This will be shared 4 weeks before your departure date so stay tuned!

Flights: ✈️

Athens Airport is the closest airport to all our marinas. We recommend using a search engine to find the best flights:

Expedia

Skyscanner

By Train/Bus: 🚌

If you have lots of time to kill, it is possible to get to Greece by train or bus from the rest of Europe. If traveling by train, there are two options:

-Via France to Italy, then from Italy by ferry to Greece and then by trains to Athens.

-Via France, Germany, Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria to Greece.

Useful Website - Rome2rio

By Car: 🚗

Greece can also be reached by car from Europe: one can either drive to Italy and then take the ferry, or via Bulgaria. All marinas have parking options.

Getting There From The Airport:

Taxi:

We strongly recommend pre-booking your taxi for arrival and departure. Taxi wait lines at the airport can be very long, the quality of the vehicles varies greatly, many drivers do not speak much English, and rates can fluctuate.

We recommend the following taxi provider. We have verified the quality of the vehicles and the drivers’ licenses. All drivers are fluent in English. A flat competitive rate is guaranteed.

Pre-book your taxi via email or whatsapp / viber : nikole4taxi@gmail.com / +30 690 777 7700

Pre-booking must be done at least 24 hours prior to your arrival/departure. The taxi driver will be waiting for you when you exit the airport. The drivers are available to take you directly to TYW check-in or to any destination within Athens.

We also recommend pre-booking your departure taxi to the airport with the same provider.

Bus:

Take the X96 to reach Alimos Marina. The journey takes around 90 minutes and costs around €6 per person. From there, there will be transfers to take you to your marina once your yacht is ready.

Metro/Tram:

Take the Metro from the airport to Syntagma Square. From there change to the Tram Line to Alimos Marina (LOUTRA ALIMOU Stop). The Metro from the airport runs every 30 minutes. The journey takes around 60 minutes and costs around €10 per person. For more information visit www.amel.gr.

If you prefer not to pre-pay a non refundable amount, you have the option to pay a €500 refundable security deposit at the marina. This can be paid by cash or card, and will be returned to you at the end of your rental period provided that no damages have occurred.

*Please note that the only thing not covered by the yacht security deposit is any blocked toilets. However, don’t worry - your skipper will make sure you know how to use the toilets properly to avoid any issues.

Covid Restrictions.

There are currently no COVID restrictions regarding entry to Greece. For more information, see here.

Visas & Passports.

All travellers will need a passport valid for at least 6 months following your departure date from Croatia. Make sure your passport has blank Visa pages. Check www.visahq.com for Visa requirements for all nationalities.

The Entry/Exit System (EES) is set to launch in the EU in 2025. It will replace manual passport stamping with biometric data (fingerprints and facial images) for travellers entering or leaving the EU, aiming to improve border efficiency and security. Additionally, the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS), a visa waiver program for non-EU citizens, is also expected to launch in 2025.

We advise all guests traveling to or from Greece, from non-EU countries to allow extra time at the airport due to the potential for longer queues.

Travel Insurance.

Do you know how many phones are lost to the Poseidon?! In accordance with our bookings terms and conditions, we strongly recommend that you get travel insurance.

Travel Insurance can provide valuable protection and peace of mind when you’re traveling. It can cover unexpected events such as; trip cancellation, trip interruption, or medical emergencies while you’re away from home. With travel insurance, you may be reimbursed for non-refundable expenses if you have to cancel your trip due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a sudden illness or a natural disaster.

Travel Insurance can also cover emergency medical expenses, including hospitalization, medical evacuation, and repatriation. Additionally, some policies may provide coverage for lost or stolen baggage, travel delays, or accidental death and dismemberment. Having Travel Insurance can help you avoid financial losses and protect you from unexpected situations while you’re on the road.
