We are looking for an LPC graduate to work full-time as the company’s Legal Officer. The successful candidate will be a trusted and valued business, legal and occasional HR advisor for the team. The expected start date will be around May/June 2018.

As the sole Legal Officer, you will be responsible for the legal affairs of the ETV group of companies (including The Yacht Week and The Ski Week) in the UK, Sweden and Croatia with a total turnover of £12m. You will report directly to the Group Managing Director and will be the principal advisor on any legal issues facing the ETV Group.

Ideally you have the ability to maintain a strong work ethic whilst being able to work independently and without supervision. You need to be a sufficient self-starter and demonstrate curiosity in finding potential legal concerns and operational hurdles before they become real and serious problems. There will be no standard or typical day as the Company’s Legal Officer and the workload will vary throughout the year and have a unique international dimension. You must be confident in your abilities, whilst you will be working independently for the most time, you will be surrounded by a great team of passionate and supportive people.


  • Drafting and carefully tailoring company contracts (including commercial and employment contracts) and other legal documents to maximise compatibility with the commercial demands & protecting stakeholder expectations.
  • Advising on international operational compliance issues relevant to current and future holiday experience offerings.
  • Advising on general legal issues relevant to the international travel and tour operator sector.
  • Advising on intellectual property issues and enforcing ETV’s IP rights.
  • Being the primary point of contact between ETV and third parties in an official capacity relating to insurance, legal and compliance matters.
  • Renewing ETV’s portfolio of insurance policies on a periodic basis.
  • Providing support and assistance to any group company on international legal and insurance matters.
  • Providing support and assistance to the Finance and Operations Department and Customer Service Team with any issues and queries requiring critical analysis through a legal lens.
  • Instructing and managing external legal counsel if and when necessary.
  • Undertaking Company Secretarial duties including but not limited to Board Meeting administration.
  • Undertaking some HR responsibilities including management of the HR platform, managing employee queries and so on.


  • LPC graduate or expected to have graduated from the LPC by May 2018 (you do not need to be a fully qualified barrister or solicitor).
  • Minimum 2:1 Law LLB Degree or successful completion of GDL and minimum 2:1 degree in discipline other than law.
  • An energetic, out-going personality with a positive “can-do” attitude who is willing to assist and provide support to colleagues and co-workers.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to prioritise busy workload.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Evidence of sound teamwork, critical analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent legal research skills.
  • Exceptional command of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom and possession of all necessary documentation including NI number.

The role will be based in the ETV Group Head Office in Primrose Hill, London NW1 8LH. You may spend some time on-site at ETV’s events overseas. The expected start date for this role will be around May/June 2018.
