The Role: 

Based in London, the role will have a primary focus on Day 8’s hero brand The Yacht Week. 

Travel to event in Europe & worldwide will be expected.

As Marketing Executive, you will be a core support to the team & work closely with the Marketing Manager day-to-da to plan, create & evaluate our Always On & campaign communications activity. With high output across paid, owned & earnt channels, getting up to speed with our customers, community & systems will be key to your success. 

The Person

As a central cog in the marketing machine, the person needs to be creative, well-organised with an eye for detail. The person should uphold the key values of the team & role as follows:

  • Be creative - we produce the majority of our work in house, the ability to copywrite & direct creative development is essential.
  • Be a safe pair of hands - organised, responsible & accountable for the tasks presented. Plan ahead appropriately but always flag if you think timings are going to be tricky or you need help
  • Be able to build strong internal relationships to fulfil the ambitions of the marketing team, (cross department working is key)

Job Deliverables: 

  • Channel management & strategy - manage, develop & execute our guest & pre purchase email journeys; input into organic & paid social community management; ensure clear communication or our experience on our website. You will be expected to get to grips with our cms platforms - in particular mail chimp & WordPress. 
  • Campaign creative development & production - Working from an established strategy, you will participate actively in creative brainstorms with the wider teams & bring ideas to the table. As paid & organic campaigns are developed you will help pull together the creative. This includes but isn’t limited to, writing briefs, adhoc copywriting, sourcing stock content or working with production partners to originate activations, new AV and static content. There is a great opportunity to grow your skills here in leadership, project management, briefing & working with content creators. As you grow in your role, you will have greater autonomy on projects. 
  • Team & resource management - you will work closely with our Social and Content Executive to help with creating our social strategy with a view to managing their output within a few months after probation. 
  • Communications reporting - You will support the Marketing Manager to consolidate metrics & analysis of our campaigns & always on activity, taking the opportunity to present to the wider business as and when required. As your knowledge develops, it will be expected that you can identify opportunities or needs to change direction.
  • Brand guardian & product- Working so closely with our brand day to day, you own our tone of voice & exercise a keen eye to detail to make sure our company activity stays true to our values and tone of voice.  Getting the product right to meet our marketing objectives is key to success so getting stuck in to how we can take our product to the next level is expected. 
  • Competitive & trend analysis - Keep an eye on what our core competitors are up to as well as the trends our audience are participating in. Keep your fingers on the pulse and spend time to mine creative inspiration for the team- from bereal to Tiktok, from Dazed insight reports to top lonely planet destinations in 2022.
  • Admin - Filing & saving of lead creative assets; day-to-day support projects  

Key Stakeholders: 

  • Marketing team - to support in building effective solutions that help us meet our objectives. You will work into the Marketing Manager but also Head of Marketing on specific projects 
  • Ops & Tech teams - Forging strong relationships with our partners in the business to make sure our ideas for the product & campaigns can be made into reality 
  • Customer service - Keep your ear to the ground with customers to make sure the feedback loop is closed
  • Commercial Team - working closely with the commercial team to react to sales data and be agile in terms of market changes 

Skills and background: 

Essential Skills

  • 1-2 years experience in creative communications or PR (agency or in-house) within travel/lifestyle brands 
  • 1-2 experience working with social media platforms
  • Experience of copywriting or blogging 
  • Experience of project management & working with a budget 

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of working with WordPress or website CMS 
  • Experience of Mailchimp, Canva & Later
  • Campaign or project management 
  • Remote working experience
  • Working experience with marketing KPIs & data based decision making (CPA, ROAS, Etc) 


£28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience
