Traveling to Montenegro
Our marinas in Montenegro are very close to Tivat Airport (TIV), which is fairly well connected to European airports. Read on for some tips on getting to Montenegro and getting to your marina.
Getting to Montenegro
Tivat Airport (TIV) is the closest airport to our marinas though flights are infrequent. Alternatively, you can fly to the Montenegro capital Podgorica (TGD) which is a 90min transfer to the marinas. If you fly in Dubrovnik, Croatia, you will need to go through a lengthy immigration at the border with Montenegro. We recommend using a search engine to find the best flights:
We recommend using VisaHQ to find out if you require any visas to enter the country - www.visahq.co.uk
Getting to your marina
Tivat airport to Kotor, Solila and Muo Marinas
For a 3 person taxi, the cost is approximately €15-€25 for a 20-minute journey.
Podgorica airport to Marinas
For a 3 person, taxi cost is approximately €40-€45 for a 90-minute journey.
For larger groups of 4-8 people, we recommend booking through https://taxi-travel.me/ Prices start from 75-100€.
Dubrovnik airport to Marinas
The cost is approximately €75-190/vehicle for a 2hr journey*. We recommend pre-booking a transfer from www.montenegrotravelservice.com. If you are spending a night or more in Croatia before travelling we recommend pre-booking a transfer from www.connecto-taxi.com.
*Please note that you may need to go through a lengthy immigration at the border with Montenegro if you choose this option. Journey times can take up to 6hrs during busy periods.
Drop off Points in the Marinas
TYW check-in locations will be clearly signposted within the marinas, however, to avoid confusion on arrival please ask your taxi driver to drop you at the following locations depending on your booking: The Clubhouse, Porto Montenegro Marina - Muo Marina - Marina Solila
Due to Croatian border laws for all pick-ups from Dubrovnik airport, for clients traveling onward to Montenegro some taxi companies will need your full destination address, the full name, passport number, nationality and date of birth prior to arrival for each person travelling. You will be required to show your passport at the border and individuals should check to ensure there are no visa restrictions relevant to their nationality. *In August the border and ferry crossing on the way to and from Montenegro will be extremely busy. We recommend allowing an additional two hours to complete your journey in good time.
