“Few things are better than spending a week living on a boat with your best friends”- @beachandbrunch.
Here are 11 of our fav perks of living life on deck for a week. Paired with our breathtaking locations and our one of a kind bangers, we hope you can agree that the sailor's life is the life for we ⚓️
1. No such thing as routine
While routine is comforting, it can also be confining. Waking up to a new view is a pretty sweet deal and puts staying in a hotel to shame. Sailing allows you to embrace the unpredictable and take life for all it has to offer. And if along the way life decides to offer you lemons, be sure to make yourself a killer cocktail.
2. It’s lit
From the brilliant hues in the Caribbean to the fiery red skies in Sicily, life at sea gives you a first class seat to every transformative period on earth. Every sunset marks the end of an epic day and every sunrise holds promise for a new one. Appreciate nature the way it was intended to be viewed - no filter need ?
3. You have reached the voicemail box of…
Life can be a beach, but living at sea doesn’t have to be. Make use of your “stuck at sea” status and disconnect from it all. Take time to create memories free of deadlines and rid of emails. Don’t worry, you can always reconnect long enough to post that “today’s office” Instagram. Nothing says vacay more than envious followers.
4. Salty air, don’t care
“That moment when you wake up in a hot yacht cabin... get outside, breathe fresh air, see the calm blue waters... and realise you have everything you need in life”- @theblondwong.
Life on board gives you endless opportunities to stop and smell the rosé. Nothing excites the senses more than that first breath of salty ocean air. So breathe it in and let yourself indulge because the best things in life are free.
5. Seas the day
There is nothing better than exploring the world from your own mobile floating home. If your bucket list includes exploring submarine caves in Croatia, hiking up active volcanoes in Italy, taking rustic donkey rides in Greece, walking through ancient fortress towns in Montenegro, dipping in the natural pools of the Caribbean, or visiting breathtaking nature parks in Mallorca, we can help you cross them off.
Make sure your seat backs and folding trays are in their full upright positions because you’re in for the experience of a lifetime.
6. You have 40 new friend requests
"The Yacht Week truly improves friendships and fosters some amazing new ones."- @sammiy25.
At sea you’re only as good as the company you bring and the people you meet. Strangers will soon become friends and epic weeks will soon become traditions. Rest assured knowing you’re joining one of the best families in all the seven seas. Once a Yacht Weeker, always a Yacht Weeker.
7. Snacks on snacks on snacks
Just because you’re at sea doesn’t mean you’re limited to the catch of the day. Satisfy your cravings with delectable fruits, charcuterie spreads and everything in between, freshly prepared by our lovely hostesses. Feel free to over indulge - we all know calories only count on land. ?
8. Wave after wave
While we know there are few things better than rocking out to your favourite jams under the sun, we don’t want to forget about nature's built-in soundtrack. Unplug and let the soothing sounds of the big ocean blue wash your worries away ?. Because unlike Taylor Swift, nature will really NEVER go out of style.
9. Catch rays not feelings
Never fear a vitamin D deficiency while aboard your yacht. Being at sea grants you unlimited access to soak up some serious rays. So lay back, relax and let the sun do the work for you. The only thing you should be worried about is tan lines, or lack thereof ?
10. The whole ocean at your feet
While we may not be lucky enough to live as mermaids and mermen, we can at least pretend to. Test out your sea legs and let the clear blue water wash away the night before- just don’t forget to do it in style. Pro tip: A dip in the water is a perfectly acceptable form of bathing. Pirate showers anyone?
11. Let your inner nauti-ness out
Being at sea gives you free range to test out your sea legs, and better yet your sailor expressions. Whether that involves finding some “booty” (another word for pirate’s treasure - get your mind out of the gutter) or proclaiming you’re “the captain now”, no expression is too overplayed. Just remember to keep it classy or you might find yourself walking the plank.
While the perks of living at sea are never ending, we hope some of our favourites struck your fancy. So what are you waiting for? Come join us and live the life you’ve only been posting about ?
