Doing Yacht Week sober is its own joy.

Catch up with the Collective showcases the unique experiences of some of our favourite people - including guests, hosts and skippers. In their own words.

For this edition, we’re chatting to Jasmine, who had a freeing, fulfilling Yacht Week that was devoid of drinks and packed full of adventure.

A recipe for the perfect week.

"Free yourself from any limiting expectations. Define your own boundaries."

Jasmine set out on her Yacht Week having put hours into researching her perfect experience. Her advice on making the most of it is simple - understand what you want out of it, put the effort into researching it, and then understand who you're yachting with. That's the recipe to the ideal Yacht Week.

But there was a twist. She was going to challenge expectations on her vacation by doing it entirely sober. She mentions that while she had preconceived notions about partying with a crowd that enjoyed its drinks, her concerns were soon dispelled when she found overwhelming support for her choice not to partake.

An unforgettable memory.

"Each sunset, from island to island was unique its own way. They felt like warm, fuzzy hugs."

Jasmine explains that her week was special because of the right mix of structure and spontaneity. Meals with friends and the crew felt like family get-togethers, while the parties were a chance to let loose and let the night carry you away.

Each day on the itinerary had enough room in it for surprise and adventure, so while you had your rafts, parties, meals and island tours, there was always time built in for a spontaneous dive into the Mediterranean, a conversation by a glorious sunset, a hike up a historic path - or even just a tender moment shared with a new friend.

Love, support and community.

"I was invited to Yacht Week by friends. Meeting them led us to an unforgettable adventure, and I could not be more grateful for the experience".

Jasmine loved the strong sense of community she felt during her Yacht Week. She met people from around the world, made a lifetime's worth of memories in a week and did it with a group of people she adored. All the while, she defined her do's and don'ts for the trip, and her vacation adapted to what she wanted most from it.
