Country Manager 2010

Canada – United States - France (South Part) France (Paris Region) - Netherlands - Germany – Ireland – Hungary – Poland – Portugal – Brazil – Australia - Italy - Egypt - Israel and Lebanon .

Country Managers are an essential part of The Yacht Week team. As a Country Manager, you will be in charge of the marketing of The Yacht Week in your country.

We really encourage our Country Managers to be as proactive and creative when marketing our brand. We will provide you with the branding materials you need, but it's down to you to use your network and social skills to promote the events to the right markets. You can also get your own team of Brand Ambassador's to help with this. Country Manager's get the chance to participate in the events, joining the crew boat and helping out with general organization.

This job is great as a part-time job for a student or someone who wants to do something more than just their daily job. It may also be perfect for someone that is finishing the university or starting his first job but still wants more. Please be aware that the salary is commission-based only. Although the commissions will provide you with some additional money, bear in mind that we are looking for people that want to work for something they love: sailing socialising and partying.

To be a Country Manager you must be connected, driven and have extremely good social skills. We are looking for people that are self-motivated, entrepreneurial, energetic and highly positive, always looking for new challenges. Additionally, you need to have a good knowledge of your market and the networks within it. You have to be able to work independantly to promote an ongoing trend within your country.

Brand Ambassador 2010

Promote the event at your university or in your region!

A Brand Ambassador (BA) will lead a joint marketing campaign in his/her area to help promote The Yacht Week. The BA's work along side the Country Manager who has the overall responsibility for marketing and sales.
Working with The Yacht Week is inspiring work that requires good social skills as well as know how in marketing and sales. This field of work allows you to put your academic knowledge to work in day to day life. Brand Ambassadors get a free holiday and a space on the crew boat during the event!

TYW Lead Developer

We are looking for a programmer with the skills and initiative to continue developing the technical platform that handles our bookings, in order to maintain our position as the most technically advanced companyin the yachting business.

The platform we have today handles the administration of bookings and payments, and syncs yacht availability with our partners. Bookings are made directly on our site, and customer can log in to their accounts to administrate their crew list, order transfer and check payment status. For an added social experience, bookings and crew lists can be connected to the Facebook accounts of our customers. The entire platform is written in Perl with data stored in a MySQL database. It has been in use and continuously developed since The Yacht Week started. During a transition period, part of your job will be to maintain and improve this system with additional features.

In the near future we are planning to develop a completely new system, based on our current experience and adapted for our business as it looks today. This will be your big project. As lead developer your job will be to plan and implement the development of our new platform. Our CTO, who has developed our current system, will assist and supervise you in this. We are planning to outsource part of the programming in this project, and you will be in charge of the outsourcing.

Qualifications

  • Experience of developing efficient and well-structured web applications.
  • Fluency in MySQL.
  • Having worked with creating nice-looking online user interfaces, preferably in AJAX, otherwise in HTML/CSS.
  • Perl experience would be very nice, PHP experience no too bad either. But really, if you're the programmer we're looking for you'll learn any of those languages in a week anyway.

Film Production (Shooting, Editing and Producing)

Are you the next rising music video producer star? Let us know, we are currently looking for a super talented individual to edit, and/or shoot and produce our 2011 Trailer.
We are expecting a trailer equivalent to a blockbuster Hollywood produced action trailer. Our budget is very small, but we promise a great adventure, exiting scenes and a great time.

All positions are currently filled for Summer 2011, however, we encourage all talent to submit an application, as opportunity may still arise this summer, or this winter in the BVI and in the future

This is an unpaid position, but trust us, it is worth doing even though you normally would not work for free. An epic experience in the Mediterranean is promised!
Videographer with equipment is a plus.
