By The Yacht Week
Posted on 11th November 2021
COVID requirements:
Martinique
Martinique is a French Territory therefore it adopts French law and regulations. This means that when you are visiting Martinique you are effectively in France and subject to French law. To enter Martinique as a tourist, you must be fully vaccinated and travel from some countries may also require a negative test.
St Lucia
To enter St Lucia as a tourist, you must be fully vaccinated and have a negative PCR test taken within 5 days of entry.
Both items are needed to enter St Lucia and antigen tests are not accepted. More info here.
The Yacht Week
In order to attend the week in full, we require all guests to have a negative PCR test taken no earlier than 2 days before the first day of the trip and proof of full vaccination more than 2 weeks prior to joining the event. The negative PCR test alongside your proof of vaccination will allow you to enter both Martinique and St Lucia using the same test, meaning you will not need to spend time during your week getting tested.
Form requirements:
Martinique
For entry into Martinique, there are currently no additional entry forms required though you may be asked for a Commitment of Honour form which your airline should give you.
St Lucia
For entry into St Lucia, you will need to fill out a travel authorisation form. This is done via a portal and an account setup. Please note you will need to select the ‘entry by sea’ option. Your vessel name will be ‘Dream Yacht Charter’ Confirmation of this travel authorisation will be checked by our team at check-in in Martinique. The Travel authorisation form can be found here.
What happens if you turn up without the required information:
The team onsite will endeavour to assist with any missing documentation or approvals. However, there is no guarantee we will be able to get the necessary updates or changes done in time for the itinerary. Therefore it may be the case you will have to delay departure to St Lucia or the return to Martinique until clearances have been approved. Importantly we cannot guarantee a PCR test results conducted in Martinique will get results within 48 hrs. It is essential all guests arrive with PCR tests in the correct timeframe.
Return Testing:
Antigen tests will be bookable through The Yacht Week 4 weeks before your trip departs. Head to your TYW booking page to the 'extras tab' for pricing and booking information.
Guests needing PCR tests for return journeys will need to organise this themselves.
What happens if you test positive for COVID during the week:
If you test positive during the trip you will be required to leave your yacht and report to the authorities. You will then be required to isolate for a minimum of 10 days at your own cost at a government-approved hotel or hospital if your condition is serious.
